Watching Bull Riding Through the Years
Since I can remember, my family has been watching bull riding all of their lives, so here’s a story of how they watched it then and now.

Here’s watching at an actual rodeo.

To watching it at home on TV.

And here’s watching it on a live stream wherever you are.
Book Analysis
Both of the books I analysis were both interesting books. I learned from both books and I will be careful with what I search and write on the Internet. The first book I read was Vanessa Fox’s “Marketing in the Age of Google.” She gave a lot of good arguments about how to use Google’s search engine in there business strategies. The Example she gave were helpful for me to understand some of the concepts she mentioned. As for the other book by Daniel J. Solove, his book was about different cases of privacy. The stories and examples he used stood out in the book. It made it more real and believable. While reading the books, I tied them both together as they mentioned the Google search engine a lot. For example, posting negative posts on Facebook can hurt you because when people search your name on Google, they will most likely see what you wrote. The secrets you had and was meant for your friends only will be revealed to everyone. So the book suggests watch what you write on the Internet.

After seeing Google’s project glass in class it made me wonder how far away we would be from seeing this as a reality. While I don’t fully understand how everything in this works because I don’t have the technology skills to understand it all, it seems like an amazing idea. The idea of being able to control everything you need with just your voice can make things a lot simpler. However there seems to be some downside to this technology in my opinion. If you want to say something but don’t feel comfortable saying it in public you may just avoid bringing it up all together.
In terms of how close are we to this becoming reality, I stumbled across the video linked in the URL. According to the source a man was already able to make this a reality on his own by using Adobe Air. If you watch the video that comes with the link you will see an actual working method of Google’s version. While this man created this by himself, you can only begin to imagine what a Google constructed team could put together.
In this instance Google doesn’t currently have a working version of this available to the public, but after seeing others create working version may speed up there team to make it possible. Google has a great technology team and could use that to their advantage to perfect this item before many can even figure out how to. Google has a great idea in the making but how long will it be til it is truly considered reality? The answer is pretty unclear at the moment because a lot has to happen before this can be perfected according to many experts.
While the original video leaves us wondering how this concept is possible, the new videos of people creating them by themselves leave us wondering how long until Google releases its first pair. In my opinion Google will start working very hard on this project and try to make it a reality as soon as possible. While many people are caught up in the Iphone state, this invention could potentially pass that and become the next big thing. The idea seems very hard to perfect but with a lot of time and hard work I’m sure the Google staff and whoever they consult will be able to make this a reality in no time.
I was also wondering when it will be available as well, but it seems like a while down the road. However, I am not liking how it looks, although the whole systems is very cool, but the model of it looks strange. This video does look like the one we saw in class, but a bit different. It seems Google needs to speed things up after viewing this video.

Ah yes, the ever popular topic of where Facebook is heading. The multi-billion dollar giant is finally in a transitional stage of what to do with all of its money. With the most recent and controversial acquisition of Instagram, Facebook is thinking ahead. As crazy as it sounds, $1 billion deal…
Very interesting news article from the Post. So far, I not liking the direction Facebook is going nowadays. The network is constantly changing and becoming more confusing. Now with this purchase of Instagram, who knows where it will lead to. So, I agree they should just sell, it is bound to lose it’s successful someday.
Social Media helps in Tsunami Warnings
Did the social media save thousands of lives? Recently Indonesia suffered a tsunami, which killed five people, and some were injured. According to ABS-CBN, this tsunami was not as deadly the 2004 tsunami where 150,000 people died during that tragedy. It is a big different from 2004 to 2012. Although it did a lot of damage, experts are relieved not many people were hurt this time. Many seem to believe it is because of mobile phones and the social media that saved many lives.
The social media has changed since 2004. In 2012, the big social media is social networking. The citizens of Indonesia got the warning of the tsunami hitting their location through the social networking. Indonesia’s friends and followers on Facebook and Twitter, which is something that didn’t exist in 2004, helped them a lot this time around. Through social networking, send information travels faster, so it gave a warning to Indonesians to pack up and get to higher levels from the Indian Ocean.
In the news article, it also talks about the mobile phones helped save the people too. People texting each other about the weather and updating one another. It explains that Indonesia’s growth of cell phone usage has increased since 2004. They have the biggest increase in sales than anywhere else. They could’ve access the Internet to connect to the social networking as well. You can access the social media everywhere now; I can believe that the social media did in fact help save a lot of people.
Now this could be a perfect example of how positive the social media could be. We get the information faster and save people lives. I can’t imagine what could’ve happened if those people did not get a warning like they did. Do you think the social media help prevent all the deaths in this current Tsunami? Because I sure do.

Twitter has commonly had a higher age group of users until recently. In an article written by Stephanie Schwab, Rise of the Twitter Teenager, she shows us that there is a new age group among the Twittersphere. Teens. The young kids are turning to Twitter at an even earlier age to follow…
This was a very interesting article. There are a lot underage kids on Twitter these days, it’s hard to imagine. I do believe the tweets they send out now will interfere with their future jobs because I know that’s what they look at. I still can’t believe they are doing this behind their parents’ back. Parents need to start controlling their kids.

Over the past year it seems as though bullying has been on the rise both in schools and online. I recently came across an article debating on whether or not social media can stop bullying or simply enhance the issue. In the last couple of months teenagers have been posting videos are Youtube to…
I agree 100% with you. Bullying has been the biggest topic in the recent months as young kids commit suicide due to the issue. I have seen some of the videos of Celebrities posting “It Gets Better” however it is still not helping. The children are still being bullied for the life. If it is not in school, it is happening online.
The Battle Between Facebook and Yahoo
Yahoo has been the place where you can communicate online, get news feeds, and see advertisements. It is the website where many have gone for more than 10 years. Now the Internet has changed a lot of the years with Facebook being launched back in 2004. It has because the biggest social networking site with over 800 registered users. In 2012, Yahoo had filled a lawsuit towards Facebook for coping their website. Not, that long after the lawsuit was released, Facebook had fired back stating that Yahoo is now in fact coping their social networking site.
When Yahoo launched, it was a site that provided us to send emails, chats, and other files. It also allowed entertainment, videos, music, and us to view the news worldwide. Yahoo is claiming Facebook is using these tools on their website. For example, Yahoo stated that this how Facebook is coping them, “advertising, privacy controls, social networking and messaging.” Some say Yahoo is going too far with this claim because of the free sharing of source code has existed for many years.
As for Facebook, they are claiming, “various core features of Yahoo, such as news feeds of stories, tagging photos and search algorithms, are based on Facebook technology.” I do find these to be true, because when I visit Yahoo, I could see some of the features that Facebook created such as the “Like” button on photos and posts. Although I would agree that Facebook is coping with the advertising on the side of the page. However, you see that on almost every website on the Internet nowadays.
Above all, I think they are working off each other’s ideas. The Internet is filled with millions of websites and they are trying to stay on top. With Facebook at the top, Yahoo is trying to win their users back. In the article, it said that Yahoo is just trying to stay relevant, which I think is true. I don’t really use my yahoo mail anymore to communicate with my friends. Today I go to Facebook because it is faster to talk with them. As for the whole battle between the two, I would think it is all about the marketing.

It was interesting to research what people think is going to become of social networking in the future. While I read this article, it was very interesting seeing what predictions have come true, and what still is yet to come. The article was written in 2010 and thinking back, a lot has…
A very interesting article and I agree with it. People do think their whole life is on the Internet and they rely on it too much. I know I used to be like that when I moved to the city and when I return home there is hardly ever any service and I get bored. But now, I take that time to be away from the web. We all need a break from it once in a while. So I think people shouldn’t really rely on it too much because something always goes wrong.

Due too a recent article alarming and surprising news has been announced. Can anyone estimate how much facebook is worth? I knew I couldn’t but was very surprised to find out the recently facebook is announced to be worth $100 billion dollars! Just even in 2011 last year facebook’s value was…
Wow! Those are some interesting numbers, especially coming from 2011. I notice in 2011 a lot more users open an account on Facebook. I would say it was because of the movie “The Social Network” that helped. I had no idea China is strict with the website, I could not imagine how more users will be added if they are able to use the network. We are still in the first quarter of 2012, let’s how much the numbers will increase at the end of the year.
